Ren'Py Edgefield

So, here’s the setup: You’re 18 years old and on your way to Edgefield University, an expensive, prestigious school you’re honestly kinda shocked you got into. You’re interested in photography, but are undecided on what you’re going to study. On your ride there, you’re accompanied by your dad, his new gf, Sasha and her daughter, Emma.

Once you arrive, you move into your dorm room and meet your new floormates. You can choose to flirt or make friends with any and all of them — totally up to you. We want to give you total freedom in who you pursue without locking you out of content if you’re not into a specific character. Everything is optional.

**Who Are We

Gopher** (Lead Dev / Artist) - I’ve worked as a game dev for years and have made a lot of games. I've always had a sort of quiet passion for adult games, but this is my first time making one.

Dr. Bird (Writer, She/Her) - Hi! I've been writing professionally for a while now, and am a long time lover of fan-fiction and graphic novels. When Gopher approached me about working on Edgefield I was most excited about the inclusion of a female lead character. That is something I think is HEAVILY missing from the AVN genre, and I am just the gal to fill that hole.

• Sasha - Your dad’s new girlfriend. Trying awkwardly to bond with you.
• Emma - Sasha's daughter. Does not like you. In her Junior year at Edgefield.
• Theo - Intelligent and encouraging. Future president (probably). Studying Political Science.
• Peter – Horny class clown. Always joking. Studying Music Theory.
• Quinn – Chill skater girl. Gives you shit, but in a fun way. Undecided Major.
• Penelope – Shy gamer. Loves anime. Classic. Studying Game Design.
• Jun – Cheerful goth. Artsy and open-minded. Studying Fine Art.
• Victoria – Influencer. Model. Cam-girl. Studying Economics.
• Jada – History buff. Into archaeology and local myths and legends. Studying History.
• Lucia – Sweet, bookish, and probably too pure for this group. Studying Biology.
• Sunny – Giant nerd. Total sweetheart. Knows computers inside out. Studying Computer Science
• Kerry – Confident film geek. Big horror movie fan. Studying Filmmaking.
• Trent – Football player. Jock with a surprising soft side. Studying Business.
• Edmund – Romantic English exchange student. Poet type. Studying literature.

Gameplay Systems

(Not all gameplay mechanics listed are in the first release)

Open World, Sandbox Map - We want Edgefield to feel like a place you can actually explore. Plenty of locations, random encounters, characters with daily schedules, that kind of thing.



Romantic / Friendship Routes - Every major character has their own story arc with either a Romantic or Friendship route and you’re able to change your mind about which of these relationships you want with each of them.





Room Customization - You'll have your own dorm room and will be able to deck it out however you like. Posters, furniture, weird junk you collect after completing quests — it'll feel like your space.



Booty Call Mechanic - If you hit it off with someone, you'll eventually be able to invite them over for some late-night fun. Gotta build up that relationship first, though. This will serve as one of the ways to view repeatable sex scenes.



Jobs (For Money) - We’re planning some part-time job options that let you earn cash / meet new people around town.

Studying (For Grades) *Still workshopping this idea* - Tests happen every 7 in-game days. You’ll need to study a few times each week to keep your grades up. Studying is just a quick 3-second montage or something (no player input needed) that progresses the in-game time by one.

You’ll have 21 time slots per week, and maybe 3-5 of those will need to go toward studying if you want to keep your grades up. Passing tests comes with perks, but failing won’t ruin your game — you'll just have a different experience.

Eventually there will be ways to study more efficiently (meaning you’ll be able to study less per week), and ways to get away without studying at all. This is meant to be a fun resource management system, but not something that is overly burdensome.

Phone (For Nudes) - A cell phone with a contacts menu, texting, a photo gallery and blah blah blah etc. It’s a phone.



Collectible Trading Cards - Hot trading cards hidden around campus. Because who doesn’t love monster girls.

What's Next?

Like I mentioned at the top, the first release dropped Friday, March 14th at 8pm ET for Patreon subs and Friday, March 21st at 8pm ET for everyone else.

The first release is basically "Day One" at Edgefield — finding your room, making friends, figuring out who you’re interested in and seeing what this whole college thing is about. It’s about laying the groundwork for a lot more drama, romance, and horny shit down the line. We’re planning regular content updates after launch with more story progression, updates to gameplay mechanics and obviously more animations.

Mobile version - We’re already working on getting a mobile version working, so expect that very soon after the initial release.
